Tendencies of the Mind

Siting on the terrace of my kutir watching the skies, observing all the flavors and thought patterns and just witnessing what is going on in the inner atmosphere... One of the most amazing puzzle which was there since a long time got cracked... Found out few thing which i am sharing...
The Mind has 2 characteristics... 1) To learn. 2) To unlearn...
Every event happening leaves its mark on the mind, mind learns something new... Some new impressions are created and few of the old ones are erased or overwritten with the fresh ones created...
In the same fashion the mind itself can unlearn what has been learnt over a period of present as well as past lifetimes... Just becoming aware about a typical tendency of the mind, and diving deep into it can reveal its source... The deepest cravings and aversions... It works as a process from scratch... Like the RAM of a computer system... The more no of programs are open the system is slow and more possibility of a system failure or even hanging... The less no of programs are open the system runs very fast giving more efficient work done... The mind clogged with more no of thoughts is more confused and inefficient, forget creative... Strength of making decision is very weak... which leads to wrong decisions being taken giving more frustration and more confusion... The mind is not at all stable if it is clogged with multiple thoughts...
Vice versa if the mind is clear and only required no of thoughts are entertained then it can be the most productive, the most creative, most efficient in work... Now to be well understood bout thoughts... They are again based on the impressions which are carried in the Mind... There are "n" no of thoughts scattered all over the Universe... the one thought which is caught is according to its knowhow in a particular mind... the impressions... like a Vaccine... a small dosage of a particular virus is given so that the body is immune to that particular virus... Similarly the thoughts which are caught are based upon the previous impressions which are already present in the system... for eg... in a particular situation one person behaves in a certain way and in the same situation another person will behave in a certain way... Deeper the impression, less no of thoughts arise of a particular pattern, thus depriving one a broader vision of situation... This is what it is called a Particular person's Nature...
Freedom comes to the Mind when these thought patterns are broken... By awareness a thought pattern can be broken... just by becoming aware of it before acting in a particular situation... the thought pattern is already broken if u don't act according to the pattern... become aware bout what more can be done in a particular situation will reveal another thought pattern... break that pattern to reveal more and more such patterns... This is the process of Unlearning... once this process starts, over a period of time the Mind is left with no set pattern except the ones which are required for the Mind to exist or survive... keep the body alive... This is the state of utter spontaneity...
 As Ashtavakra says "Acting Spontaneously"

Life - Simple or Complicated

How do u look at your life??? Is it simple or is it complicated... Ever occurred to you whether it is the Situations and other people who make your life either simple or complicated... Or is it you yourself... With the knowledge of the Self and knowledge of freedom Life can be very easy...
When one is ready to drop the little feverishness which exists with your own Cravings and Aversions... Life is as Simple as it is... The more you dive deep into the cravings and aversions you will realize that there is nothing to crave for or to be averse to... Strange are the way's of the Mind... But it need this cravings and aversions to exist (As stated in my previous post Eureka)... because the immature mind does not know how it is to be Nobody or Nothing...
To make one's life complicated all u need is Kutarka (stupid/negative Logic). If u see into Quantum Mechanics (Theory of Possibilities) which is known as Viparyaya in the Yoga Sutras by Patanjali... on one level it is a very Beautiful tool which can be used to judge a particular situation and keep the mind free from troubles... But on more subtle levels this Viparyaya is a bondage or an obstacle... A typical kind of tendency develops to judge each and every situation as well as Person... In this tendency the Mind, Intellect and the whole existence is all the more confused, thus making Life more and more complicated...
This is a tool if you know how and where to use... But its an obstacle to ones growth if you get stuck in it... Get entangled in it... A tool to choose the most positive possibility and staying out of trouble or choosing the worst possible situation and preparing for it...
The Wise one can make the most adverse or complicated situation into the most simple one....
A Fool can make the Best of situation into the most complicated ones...

So the choice is yours.... To keep your life Simple or make it Complicated... :-)

Longing

What is Longing???

If you see, in this whole universe there is longing... The whole creation... In fact this longing keeps everything up & running. The Day longs for the Dusk, the Dusk long for the night, the night longs for the Dawn & Dawn for the Day... Even in the nature there is longing... Flowers long for the Bees, Bees long for the nectar, Birds long for their nests... Leaves long for the sunshine... Flower too wait for the Sun to rise so that they can bloom... While some flowers bloom at the Night... Every aspect of life, whether living or non-living is longing for something or the else...
The disciple is longing for the Master and the Master also longs for the Disciple... Such an amazing gift is this Longing... For few it becomes a part of their life and for a very few Fortunate ones Life itself become Longing...
Now if u see there is a slight difference between Remembrance & Longing... you have to keep remembering things which for sometime you tend to forget... But when there is longing... the thought never leaves your attention in the worst as well as the Best of situation... When remembrance seeps through your entire existence it becomes longing...
It is the most precious gift given to the whole creation by the Divinity... "Param Virahaskti" - Longing for the Divine/Master. This is the Longing at the Pinnacle of all other types of Longings... in this state even the slightest distance cannot be bearable... The Ultimate end of Longingis a state where even the personal existence or the Duality is also unbearable... All knowledge dawns automatically once this state or stage is achieved...
The funniest part is that no matter what all you do, what and however much practice ( Sadhna ) you do it is not at all possible to attain this state... you cant "DO" anything to attain this state... You can only Pray... Only the Master can grant you this state that too IF HE WANTS...

This came when i was sitting at Shakti Kutir.... JGD

A very Cute yet Inspiring story...

The first day of school our professor introduced himself and challenged us to get to know someone we didn't already know. I stood up to look around when a gentle hand touched my shoulder.

I turned around to find a wrinkled, little old lady beaming up at me with a smile that lit up her entire being.

She said, "Hi handsome. My name is Rose.
I'm eighty-seven years old. Can I give you a hug?"

I laughed and enthusiastically responded, "Of course you may!" and she gave me a giant squeeze.

"Why are you in college at such a young, innocent age?" I asked.

She jokingly replied, "I'm here to meet a rich husband, get married, and have a couple of kids..."

"No seriously," I asked. I was curious what may have motivated her to be taking on this challenge at her age.

"I always dreamed of having a college education and now I'm getting one!" she told me.

After class we walked to the student union building and shared a chocolate milkshake.

We became instant friends. Every day for the next three months we would leave class together and talk njava-script. I was always mesmerized listening to this "time machine" as she shared her wisdom and experience with me.

Over the course of the year, Rose became a campus icon and she easily made friends wherever she went. She loved to dress up and she reveled in the attention bestowed upon her from the other students. She was living it up..

At the end of the semester we invited Rose to speak at our football banquet. I'll never forget what she taught us. She was introduced and stepped up to the podium. As she began to deliver her prepared speech, she dropped her three by five cards on the floor.

Frustrated and a little embarrassed she leaned into the microphone and simply said, "I'm sorry I'm so jittery. I gave up beer for Lent and this whiskey is killing me! I'll never get my speech back in order so let me just tell you what I know."

As we laughed she cleared her throat and began, "We do not stop playing because we are old; we grow old because we stop playing.

There are only four secrets to staying young, being happy, and achieving success.

You have to laugh and find humor every day.

You've got to have a dream. When you lose your dreams, you die.

We have so many people walking around who are dead and don't even know it!

There is a huge difference between growing older and growing up.

If you are nineteen years old and lie in bed for one full year and don't do one productive thing, you will turn twenty years old. If I am eighty -seven years old and stay in bed for a year and never do anything I will turn eighty-eight.

Anybody can grow older. That doesn't take any talent or ability. The idea is to grow up by always finding opportunity in change. Have no regrets.

The elderly usually don't have regrets for what we did, but rather for things we did not do. The only people who fear death are those with regrets."

She concluded her speech by courageously singing "The Rose"

She challenged each of us to study the lyrics and live them out in our daily lives. At the year's end Rose finished the college degree she had begun all those years ago.

One week after graduation Rose died peacefully in her sleep.

Over two thousand college students attended her funeral in tribute to the wonderful woman who taught by example that it's never too late to be all you can possibly be.

When you finish reading this, please send this peaceful word of advice to your friends and family, they'll really enjoy it!

These words have been passed along in loving memory of ROSE.

 REMEMBER, GROWING OLDER IS MANDATORY.

GROWING UP IS OPTIONAL.

We make a Living by what we get,
We make a Life by what we give.

God promises a safe landing, not a calm passage.

If God brings you to it, He will bring you through it.

Eureka....

Hey...
just sitting at night below this beautiful blanket of stars and planets, many times kept wondering why this whole thing was created... such beautiful sky, such an amazing creation itself... every species may it be insects, birds, mammals, the huge water kingdom, and so many unseen bacteria's which can survive in temperature as equal as the temperature of the sun...
Such an amazing creation... BUT WHY??? and what is the basis on which this whole creation is up and running 24/7 ( its our way of measuring time ) what inspires every living and non living matter to exist??? Why??? Who??? What for???
such kind of questions were bothering me and suddenly a thought came up... This whole thing is just the creation of the mind... So what is this mind... What is its mechanism... what inspires it to be... What is the nature of the creation and nature of the mind as an entity itself... and why is this mind trying so hard to exist???
After a long time of such questionnaire an amazing thing just sprang... It felt that the answer was there itself lingering around in the Mind... not my personal mind... There is no such thing... It is like fish in water... no matter how it can be explained it is impossible to know what it is!!!!
Well then this thing came... and all the closed shutters were opened and many of the answers were revealed... The thought of existing itself is the root cause of the Entire Creation... and the craving to exist is what drives the Entire Creation... That explains the nature of the mind to hold on to things... If the mind doesnt hold on to anything, let goes of everything then its purpose of existing comes in danger... It will cease to exist... And nothing in this whole creation likes to die... And that explains the fear of Death... the mere craving to exist is the root cause of everything...
So here comes the best part... If the nature of the mind is Karma i.e. to do something to exist indirectly leads to Cause and its Effect and the circle continues... the nature of the creation is to Exist... That is what is called Dharma... the Nature...
So the best part is this that on one level Karma and Dharma are 2 different things...
But on the base level they are one and the same... Maybe two sides of a coin...
Now this is what i realized... I dont know how much is valid and how much is Void... Just something which i would like you to read...

Realisation

I was just here doing what i do and suddenly something struck me...
what can be the formula for Knowledge... The mind started working... Intellect started giving all rights n wrongs... Memory was put into action... And the Ego just kept on giving orders.... hehehehe as i am in engineer thats y such kind of explanation...
and the outcome of the whole exercise was awesome... there is a formula to Knowledge...
Knowledge = ( Information + Experience ) x Awareness
There are some times when u just know things... But there are many times that u just have the informations about something and on the experiential level there is nothing... And sometimes u have the experience but dont know what it is all about... But both the things are there yet it happens that u r stuck in situations and people... There comes the Awareness part...
Just the awareness about the information and the experience give u the complete picture of situations as well as people... I hope this realisation will help u learn something or unlearn something...
Till the next post Take Care

Strange experience

Hiii....
Ever given a thought what if the whole earth came to a stand still... What will happen to the life on earth... There is allways some or the other threat to the city, country or planet... But what to say to people who have lost somebody in either a terror attack or an accident or and natural calamity... Actually nothing can be done... Strange is the mechanism of the mind... Every good as well as bad situation either to u or to somebody else gives us a chance to be grateful to the Divine... If u see Rajita & Ajay Bagga's experience... nothing could have happened to them even in the midst of the terror attack...
Now the most amazing part is that every mind will react in a certain way... this conditioning of the mind is what is called Karma, and its Karma phala... which is the Cause and its effect... the amazing part is that every effect is in turn a cause for some other effect... the only way to be free from this Circle of cause & effect is being grateful in this present moment... knowing that u are not the doer gives u this freedom to choose which thought to put in action rather than just acting according to the cause and effect circle... same kind of patterns followed since ages...
How many of us knows that we are actually stuck in these patterns and blindly going with the flow of emotions... No idea... every Storm before it comes and after the carnage teaches or rather opens u to this nothingness inside u...
Just kept on writing what came to me this moment... jai gurudev...

Brahm Naad

This time during the Delhi NCR(Noida) visit of H.H. Sri Sri Ravi Shankarji... He himself composed a song on Naad Brahm... When He started singing the song the audience including everyone on the dais (stage) all the dignitaries and guest were just blown away... Though it was not a melodious as in not in proper tune... But the way He sang it, It became a tune of its own... everybody was just spellbound by His extreme voice... I was sitting there on stage could feel His Vibrations, the energy with which He was singing... actually brought the Naad Brahm along with Him...
Very few were those who were sitting close to Him when He was singing this song... But i would consider myself very Fortunate for being there on the Stage with Him on that Day...
The day was 22nd November 2008, the place was Metro Grounds, Delhi NCR, Noida Sector - 32, and the no of ppl attending the event.... ????!!!!!! No idea...

According to Me there was only ONE thats it...
This is my experience about the song which H.H. Sri Sri Ravi Shankarji sang "Naad Brahm Ninaad Brahm"
Till the next post Enjoy... Will be posting the lyrics of that song too... and other experience of being there when 1200 Sitarist performed a Mind Blowing Symphony there...

New Raag

Hey there folks... Have learned a new Raag from my teacher here in the Ashram

Its name is Raag Kafi

It goes like this

Lyrics & meaning

The meaning of this song which i read and interpreted according to the words and Kabirji's meanings

the word Naiharwa means in Hindi "Maika" or the fathers home before a bride gets married...
But the meaning here in this song is THIS world... Full of memories and impressions from God only knows how many lifetimes... So the wrods go as Naihar wa humka na bhave... i.e. This world these days i m not liking or I am not very fond of...

Sai ki nagari Param ati sundar, Jaha koi Jaan na aawe :-
Sai means the Divine So Sai ki nagari means the Abode of the Divine, Its so so very Beautiful,
the 2nd line has 2 meanings according to me...
1) Nobody with the Physical body can go to the abode of the Divine
2) Nobody can knowingly Go to the Abode of the Divine, only ur Master can guide u....

Chand Suraj yaha, Pawan na Pani, Ko sandes pohochave
The meaning i did not understand which was written already... But i figured something out, It goes like this
Chand is symbol for earth element, Suraj for Fire, Pawan for Vayu or wind, and Pani for water
and in this abode of the Divine these 4 elements cant touch u as it is made up of only n only Space element
Darad yaha Sai ko Sunave...
All ur worries, pains and everything u want to say it to the Divine, U can say it to Him directly here...

Age chalau panth nahi sujhe, Piche kyu dosh lagave...
The path i m walking on I dont know where it is leading but cant think where it is going, But Why to blame the past...
Kehi bidhi sasure jaoo mori sajni, Biraha Jor jarave...
the word sasure means the Husbands home for a bride, so here it means the Divine's Abode... So now is such a situation that I cant think nor cant decide whether I should stay in this World full of past impressions or move on to the Divine's abode, The longing for the Divine is deadly...
Vishaye Ras Naach nachave...
Vishaya means the tendency of the mind to run out through the five senses... So here it says that this tendency which is there as impressions from so many lifetimes... It is making me do all sorts of things which i dont want to... making me dance all around...

Bin Satguru aapno nahi koi, Jo yaha rah batave...
Now in such a state of mind there is only one in this whole world which can show me the right way and that is My Master My Satguru...
Kahat kabira suno bhai Sadho, Sapne me preetam ave...
Saint Kabir is calling everyine a sage a sadhu, the one who has a Master is a sage already and in such a beautiful state every dream My beloved is with Me... Dreaming state and waking state and sleeping state all the 3 states of consciousness has dissolved in the Beloved Divine...

This is the meaning of this song as read and interpreted be Me... I dont know whether it is the perfect meaning or not... But it sounds quite right to me...
So take care of yourself and have faith in your Master to show U the correct way...

Tu Mane ya na Mane dildara

Tu Mane ya na mane dildara Asate tainu Rab maniya
Das Hor keda rab da dawara... Asate Tainu .....

Koi Kashi koi makke jaanda. Koi kumbh vich ja dhakke khanda
Paya Jag mai tujh vich sara Asate Tainu......

Haste Haste Hargam Sehna, Raji teri Rajaa me rehna
Tune mujhko sikhaya hai yaara Asate Tainu....

Aapme tan ki Khak udai, Tab ye Ishq ki manzil paayi
Meri sanso ka bole iktara Asate Tainu....

Tujh Bin jeena bhi kya jeena, Teri chaukhat Mera madina
Kahi aur na sajda gawara Asate Tainu....

Tumse Ho jori

Lyrics of Tumse ho Jori

Tumse Ho jori, Tumse ho jori, Sachhi preet hum, tumse ho jori

Tumse ho jori, avar sang tori, tumse ho jori, avar sang tori, avar sang tori....
     Tumse ho jori.....

Jo tum divara rab, toh hum baati, Jo tum tirath toh him jaati
Toh hum jaati,  Tumse ho jori....

Jo tum Girivar, toh hum mora, Jo tum chand to, bhaye hum chakora
Bhaye hum chakora,   Tumse ho jori....

Jaha jaha jaaoo, taha teri sewa, Tumso oo thakur, avar na deva,
Avar na deva,   Tumse ho jori....

Madhave tum na toro, toh hum nahi tore, Tum sang tore to kavan sang jore
Kavan sang jore,   Tumse ho jori....

Tumhare bhajann, katai jam phaasaa, Bhagat het gavai ravidaasaa,
    Gave ravidaasa, Tumse ho jori...
