Life is pleasurable.... Life is motivated by pleasure!!!! Depending upon the level of the quality of life, the quality and the quantity of pleasure vary... Nothing can be perfectly said about this as there are millions of permutations, combinations and vary from different individual... As each and every person is unique, His/Her way of experiencing pleasure is different & unique... Broadly can be categorised in 3 types, Tamasic, Rajasic and Sattvic...
Each and every person is stuck in either of these pleasures. Till there is a craving to experience pleasure Life will go on... Opening the deeper layers on this we can see that there is actually our own past impressions which lead to the thirst of finding higher and higher pleasures... On every level there is pleasure... through the 5 senses, Mind games, Intellectual games, etc etc... Till a seeker doesn't realise that Life itself is been motivated by pleasure this thirst will not be quenched...
For an immature mind this realisation may lead to depression, Life seems meaningless to him... But same realisation for a trained and mature mind is the state of actual liberation... Rising above the level of pleasure into Bliss... Any pleasure with sacredness will lead you to experience it 100% and will free you... Contentment will settle in... the moment there is contentment you have already risen from pleasure into bliss... Then the onward journey starts into the realm of the Self....
